Discovery Call
Interior design is an exciting, engaging, and personal experience. Having a level of trust, confidence and comfortability with your chosen interior designer is essential in bringing your interior vision to life.
This 20-minute Discovery Call will help determine whether our design firm is a good fit for you and your project. During the call we briefly discuss what your interior requirements, budget, and design goals are for your project. Whether you are doing a remodeling or new construction project, looking for full-service design, or you just need some ideas to update your space, we can help you to navigate the next steps for a successful design project! At the end of your Discovery Call, and you will have the opportunity to schedule a 45-minute Virtual Meet and Greet with us!
We will also send you our SDC Design Prep Questionnaire that we ask you to fill out in advance and email back to us before our scheduled Virtual Meet and Greet.
Virtual Meet and Greet
During this 45-minute Virtual Meet and Greet appointment we shall discuss in further detail your project, design requirements and budget, and how we work. If you are excited to take this to the next level, we will then schedule with you a 1 ½ to 2-hour on-site design consultation.
On-Site Design Consultation
Through this 1 ½ to 2-hour on-site design consultation, we take the time to get to know you by getting a better understanding of your lifestyle, personal design style, design needs, and interior objectives. At that time, we will also go over your completed design questionnaire, plus take some measurements, photographs, and detailed notes of your space. All the information that we gather, at this step helps us have a solid grasp of your project, design requirements, budget, and time frame.
Preparation of the Scope of Work, Design Agreement and Fee Estimate
Following this detailed on-site design assessment of your project and design requirements, SDC will prepare a detailed Design Agreement and Fee Estimate Proposal for review. This document will detail the scope of work for the entire project, our design intent and goals, the estimated design fee/s, the terms of payment, the estimated timeline, and the terms and conditions.
Presentation of Scope of Work, Design Agreement and Fee Estimate
Once the required documents pertaining to your project have been completed, which includes the Scope of Work, Design Agreement and Fee Estimate, SDC will reach out to you to schedule a time to meet and go over those documents carefully.
Note: Upon the approval of the SDC Design Agreement and an initial advance on our design fee has been completed, the Schematic Design phase can begin.
Schematic Design
In the schematic design phase, we focus on developing several design schemes which incorporate space planning, furniture layouts, any structural changes that may be required, material and finishes, furniture styles, window treatments, color palettes and mood boards. This is a very collaborative stage and we invite you to give as much feedback as possible to ensure we are on the right page.
Design Development and Detail
In the design development phase, we further develop and make final revisions to the chosen design scheme from the schematic design phase. Upon approval of all the concept designs, we progress to the Detail Design phase.
During the detail phase all final customized furniture, carpentry, and interior architectural drawings, along with all final finishes, curated art and accessories will be presented for your final approval. We will also present a fully itemized breakdown of costs in line with your agreed budget.
Purchasing and Procurement
After the final design plan is approved, we begin the purchasing and procurement phase. SDC request fabrication of custom pieces, window treatments and orders the other furnishings, and accessories as outlined in your design plan.
Installation and Final Touches
During the installation phase we oversee the placement every item that have you selected. This includes all rugs, furniture, window treatments, art, and accessories. Each piece of new furniture is thoroughly inspected before delivery. Installation is typically done in one day or two days. We will keep you updated as we oversee the installation allowing you to enjoy your home with peace of mind. Once the installation is complete, we walk through the finished space, pointing out all the features and benefits of each item, how to care for them and the warranties available.
